Now what?

Yesterday I had a nice quiet day with Nicole. We had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. We came home and took a nice long walk together. Talked to a few neighbors and played with Stella, the neighbor's Golden Doodle. I turned my cell phone off and didn't bother with email.

Dinner was nice too. Falafel at the Jerusalem Bakery. I always feel so "international" when I'm there. Al Jazeera on the TV and listening to the staff chatter back and forth in Arabic/English/Spanish. All the red pepper hummus you can eat! How can you go wrong?

Driving home to beat the storm I swerved several times to miss potholes. "Not my problem!" I laughed out loud. Then I corrected myself. "My problem, but not my responsibility."

I'm toying with what direction I want to take this blog. "Don't blog angry" was my advice to a couple of my supporters as they left the watch party. I'm trying to heed my own advice so I'm taking a few days to get my bearings. After that? Who knows. I'll probably start throwing rocks and hoping my house isn't made of glass.

You did one hell of a job Mark. Their is always 2011. Perhaps you could be the 4th district Rep for the---- community and public affairs as it pertains to the quality of life in neighborhoods affected by city hall.

or as i call it the CPAPQLNACH :-)

ok enough with the jokes back to my day job.

Laz,

Thanks for a full out laugh! Growing up with older brothers it's been a long time since anyone has called me a "little girl."

The Animal House reference? Nice.
Maybe I should enter the Brookside St. Patrick's parade with a cake-shaped float that says "Eat Me" on the side? Now I'm laughing out loud again.

Oh man. I needed that. Time to loosen up and be "me" again.

Go find some news Laz. Film something for pete's sake. Isn't there some churning floodwater out there to make the mid-day news? We know there's still poo flowing into Brush Creek. Give the people what they want!

Laz, I hear there's a pit bull running around a back yard in North Hyde Park if you need work.

An angry blog? Sure, as many as you want. As long as you know why your angry and where the anger should be directed.

Not only are the pot holes your problem, you're responsible. We all are. If someone doesn't take the responsibility to call it in, when will it get fixed?

Must have been your proclivity for penafores and pumps that led to the little girl comments.

Get off the couch and back in the game. What would Meb say? Are you going to sit in your room and pout all day or go do something about it?

Aren't we about due for a session at BB's? I'm in town this weekend.

You know, I've been thinking about this. Remember when you told me about those folks who went down to the meeting about the street performers and how powerful the presence of the people are? Well, Mark, you managed to convince nearly 2,000 people to vote for you and everyone of those votes you EARNED. You spoke to those people and they voted FOR you and not some name they halfway recognize.

A handful of people at City Hall made the council backpedal...imagine what 2,000 people can do. Pick up the torch, Bitch, people are listening, just not as fast as we all had hoped.
