Devil's Advocates

David Martin continues to do outstanding investigative journalism at The Pitch. His latest piece entitled "Devil's Advocates" details two lawyers from the firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon that are also elected representatives in the Missouri State House of Representatives.

Week after week it seems David breaks some new story about corruption, wrong-doing or wasting tax dollars.

The question I have to ask, "Is anybody listening?"

I don't think this article is outstanding, and I certainly don't think it tells a story of corruption, wrong-doing, or wasting tax dollars. It should not surprise anyone that two Republican representatives have sponsored tort reform legislation that may benefit some of their law firm's clients. Just as no one should be surpised if Jolie Justus, a Democrat serving in the Missouri Senate, who also happens to practice law at Shook, Hardy & Bacon, sponsors legislation that will benefit some of the women, children, and other clients she represents as the director of the firm's pro bono practice.

Touchy touchy! anonymous 9:22PM is either from Shook or Axiom Strategies. I'm banking on the latter.
