post a commentMark,
I'll be willing to chip in towards your new car's maintenance. :)
Did Funk promise to do anything that the auto dealer promised? Or did you just make that part up?
Dan,
Your question makes no sense but I think I understand what you're trying to imply.
Did I mention the mayor anywhere in this post? I think I only mentioned myself. Didn't I?
Funny how appearances and implications can be interpreted differently by people isn't it?
Indeed it is funny how people can make all sorts of implications from odd appearances. For example, I apparently misinterpreted your post about a free Honda Accord Hybrid to be a comment about our Mayor's acceptance of a free Honda Accord Hybrid.
I guess I should have known by the HUGE difference in that you promised to write anything the donor wanted, which makes it obviously not similar to Funk's no-strings-attached acceptance.
My mistake. I should have realized that your sense of intellectual honesty and fair play would have never allowed you to make such a wrong-headed, misleading connection.
Thanks for setting me straight.
Dan,
I deleted my previous retort. Perhaps you're just trying to be witty? Either way, it's not worth my time and effort.
If you can't understand what makes the acceptance of an automobile by a public official unethical, then there's no sense trying to reason with you.
So, now you're saying you were talking about the Mayor?? Funk may be stubborn, but at least he doesn't keep changing his story . . .
Actually, Funk does seem to continually change his story.
Funk #1: I support school vouchers.
Funk #2: I don't support school vouchers.
Funk #1: I want to be inclusive.
Funk #2: I've appointed a Minuteman to the Parks Board.
Funk #1: I am for a responsible city government.
Funk #2: I'm accepting a free car.
Funk #1: I want accountability in City Hall.
Funk #2: I know it's against the severance agreement, but it's OK for Ed Wolf to get paid twice because I want him.
Funk #1: I want to listen to the people.
Funk #2: The people are peppering me with too many ideas on light rail, plus I have my own opinions and they're the ones that count because I'm the one who was elected.
He did change his position on school vouchers - good catch. The rest aren't changes in position, but you did find one.
I thought he got a Civic hybrid, which would be O.K. But an Accord, that's just extravagant.
Goodness folks!!! If I wasn't at home right now in Florida with my 2 sisters, brother and parents where we always argue over silly, ridiculous things - I would feel at home reading these posts.
