Tiffany Springs Honda was offering the use of a Honda Accord Hybrid for every year the mayor is in office. Since the mayor will not be accepting this generous gift and we know that Tiffany Springs Honda was only making the offer out of a generous sense of civic responsibility, I recommend the following.
I think Tiffany Springs Honda should donate the use of that car to a worthy organization for every year that Mark Funkhouser remains in office. I'm sure there are charitable organizations like Meals On Wheels that would gladly put that vehicle to good use in the community.
So how about it Tiffany Springs Honda? |

post a commentBravo! Now that's a great suggestion. Let's see the dealership put their money ... er I mean car ... where they're mouth is.
Or maybe they could give it to Frances Semler so she could use it to patrol our parks and keep an eye on all the brown people.
Somewhere a little birdie is telling me you won't get a response...
That's actually a really good idea. Tiffany Springs Honda offered this up (I'm assuming) as a good PR move for their dealership...and it turned out to be quite a fiasco for them. This would help re-establish the good will for them that they were looking for.
And they could still write it off as 'goodwill' on their books!

At least offering up the one car they offered to give to Funk would be great...they could even put some signage on it "Meals on Wheels brought to you by Tiffany Springs Honda". Not quite as high profile as the mayor driving it around all the time but would get more advertising in areas outside of Johnson County East and Downtown (where you should be taking public transit anyway ;-)
I emailed them your blog link & idea...
Good work, Mark, and Michelle. I know I'd be happy to praise them on my blog if they follow through.
Can they still call it The Funkmobile?

Yeah, it's not like you'd ever criticize anyone or anything.
I haven't received a reply back and I'm assuming Mark hasn't either...if I was running a business I'd at least write back and say "That's an interesting idea. We'll think about it." before I deleted it from my inbox and memory.
